I wish a course like this existed 45 years ago when I first earned my Private Pilot License. Back then, I was young, determined — and broke. My family couldn’t afford to pay for my training, so I spent my days cutting lawns and juggling part-time jobs just to keep my dream alive. Thanks to the incredible support of the Aviation Explorer Scouts of El Segundo, California, I finally earned my Private Pilot License at just 18 years old.
From there, it was a whirlwind of training. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona, I dove headfirst into aviation. But it wasn’t easy. In those days, very few training facilities had direct airline pathways. I wasted a lot of money — and even more time — on poor instructors and flight schools that had no real plan for me becoming a professional pilot.
After years of flying, instructing, and working as a contract corporate pilot, I realized something important: No one was giving students the real career advice they needed to succeed quickly and smartly.That’s why I created this course.
Fast forward to today — 2025 — and the aviation world has transformed.
