Brown’s mission to uplift people of all races, cultures and ethnicities – especially our disadvantaged youth.

Recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. Since the Program’s inception in 1996, 683 students have been designated as Ron Brown Scholars.

Aviation Exploring Scholarships

The National Aviation Exploring Committee awards scholarships annually to encourage Aviation Explorers to enter and complete an aviation curriculum. The International Cessna® 170 Association (TIC170A) is a 501(c) 7 nonprofit membership organization formed to preserve the classic 170 aircraft by sharing information. An annual scholarship of $1,500 is possible because of the generous contributions of individual members and others. TIC170A will keep all submitted information confidential. Scholarship recipient criteria includes:

 • Applicant does not have to be a member or related to a TIC170A member. • Applicant must be a high school graduate or graduating the year they are applying for the scholarship and be enrolled in or graduated from an education institution in an aviation-related program.

Daedalian Flying Training is a four-way partnership of the Daedalian Foundation, participating flights, FAA-certified flight schools and selected candidates. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS - MUST BE MET BY ALL APPLICANTS

Scholarship awards are open to all individuals, regardless of gender, race or national origin, who can meet the general criteria listed below and the specific selection criteria that follow. All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be able to read, write and speak English to FAA standards
  • Write an essay (not to exceed 500 words) outlining your career goals in aviation and your interests, any special qualifications and experiences. Comment on your educational and employment accomplishments to date.
  • Be a resident of San Diego County, California at the time of application.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation endorsed by an aviation professional, for example, Chief Pilot for FT Awards, Program Director for MT Awards.

The COPA Neil J. Armstrong Ab-Initio Scholarship promotes Canadian pilot development by providing annual scholarships to a student pilot in an ab-initio flight training program. Created to honour one of Canada’s foremost aviators, the scholarship has helped many Canadian pilots get their wings.

EAA Chapter 631 and Island City Aero Club (Cumberland, WI)  Flight Training Scholarship 

Island City Aero Club awards one $1000.00 flight training scholarship per year. It is often awarded in conjunction with a $1000.00 flight training scholarship from Chapter 631 of the EAA for a total award of $2000.00

Each year the deadline to apply is March 30. Any applications received after March 30 will be considered along with all applications received up until the next March 30.
